They’ve just finished mastering Joseph Bertolozzi‘s Tower Music / Musique de la Tour album. An initial version was scrapped when Bertolozzi, re-listening to the album after an 8-day stay in the hospital had second thoughts about his “final” mix and went back to the drawing board. In the hands of Paul Kozel and Scott Hull of Masterdisc, the result is a stunningly vibrant and authentic realization of Bertolozzi’s vision.
The mastering process comprises the final refinement of the overall sound of the album, balancing the volume between successive tracks and more mundane yet critical matters such as placing the tracks in their correct order, entering metadata such as the names of the pieces, their timings, composer, name, info from the record label (innova), etc.
The album is now ready to be sent to the manufacturer for it’s release in spring of 2016.
