Those were the words spoken to me by a smiling boy bagging my groceries on my last day in Paris, a year ago today….“bon jour Monsieur Bertolozzi.”
From the lead story on p. 1 of the NY Times digital edition (and lead story on that day’s Arts section in the physical paper) to the Reuters news agency to The Himalayan Times (no joke!), the global press coverage of the sampling phase of Tower Music was astounding.
Of course local Parisian news outlets like le Figaro and Slate.fr carried the story as well alerting the locals to our goings-on including, evidently, this young man. This surprise greeting warmed my heart and remains a cherished a memory from my days on the Eiffel Tower.
